In 1984, on the top-floor terrace of the Beaubourg, the idea of Open Project, one of the first design companies in Italy, was born. This volume presents the main works realised during forty years of activity, but it is not a catalogue, it was born from Open Project's desire to reflect on the past in order to build the future.
From the courageous gesture of the two founding engineers, Silvio Antonio Manfredini and Romano Piolanti, the company soon expanded to include professionals closer to architecture (architects and engineers-architects) until it counted about fifty collaborators. At the turn of 2021, the reins of the firm were taken over by Maurizio Piolanti and Francesco Conserva who continue, in continuity with their predecessors, to be open.
