LAZZARI, Bice (Venezia, 1900 - Roma, 1981)Bice Lazzari 1960-1961

Bice Lazzari, whose fundamental importance in the national and international art scene is now well established, graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice. Lazzari exhibited her first works at Ca' Pesaro (Venice) as part of several group exhibitions in the years 1925/1927. In 1927, she participated in the Milan Triennale, which saw her present in all editions until 1961. In 1935, she moved permanently to Rome, where she exhibited wall paintings and decorative panels at several major exhibitions (Mostra del minerale, 1938) and executed frescoes and wall paintings (Casa Zalaffi; Palazzo della Confederazione dei Chimici: mosaic floor of the Fiammetta cinema).
In the 1950s he adhered to the Informal current and from the mid-1960s switched to his personal line of geometric abstraction.  In 1950 he participated in the Venice Biennale, where he received the mosaic award, and in the IV Quadriennale in Rome.

Pittrici e scultrici nei movimenti delle avanguardie storiche, edited by Lea Vergine).
After her death, many personal and collective posthumous exhibitions were held, including L'informale in Italia, Galleria d'Arte Moderna, Bologna, 1983; Bice Lazzari.
