Three important museums dedicated to contemporary art, Maxxi, Madre and Gam, join together in paying tribute to one of the protagonists of Italian art of our time, Ettore Spalletti. On the occasion of the exhibition, an up-to-date monograph has been published on the complex work of Ettore Spalletti, who over a period of forty years has traversed some of the most significant moments in the history of international art, maintaining an absolutely individual status and developing a language capable of bringing contemporaneity and classicism into dialogue. The essays delve into all aspects of Spalletti's work - from painting to sculpture to environmental installations - within a narrative path that includes historical works as well as recent and previously unpublished ones, annulling the idea of a chronological approach to art and the way it is told. The extremely rich iconographic set presents a wide selection of works from the artist's studio and from important private and public collections in an articulated historical excursus that traces Spalletti's creative adventure from his beginnings in the mid-1970s to the present day.
