Lucio Saffaro was an Italian writer and painter who was passionate about mathematics and combined mathematical research and painting. He also produced dozens of literary publications, reviewed and presented by authoritative critics, and published numerous poetic works. He began exhibiting his paintings in 1962 at the Galleria dell'Obelisco in Rome. Subsequently, he exhibited at the Venice Biennale, in Rome, and in many exhibitions in Italy and abroad, winning several awards. His works have been shown in anthological exhibitions at the Museo Civico di Castelvecchio in Verona, the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Bologna, and the Museo Civico in Bassano del Grappa. In 2004, his works were exhibited at the University of Bologna's Sistema Museale d'Ateneo.
