From Barbieri's text: "Every earthquake has two apical moments: the post-event ruins and the reconstruction. This book is a paradigmatic discussion platform. The project is deliberately composite. The title Italian Quakes. Gibellina and other diseases, shows some Italian earthquakes , Gibellina and other dysfunctions. It collects images of five Italian earthquakes: Noto (the only city rebuilt in the 18th century with Baroque urban planning), Naples, Gibellina, L'Aquila and Emilia, with images of moments in which a place has undergone violent shock that strongly characterized it. As happened with the economic crises in Detroit and Braddock PA, hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, the inhabited archaeological excavations of Catania."
