Takashi Homma (Tokyo, 1962) studied photography at Nihon University College of Art but dropped out in 1984, accepting a job as a photographer at an advertising agency in Tokyo. In 1991 he moved to London to work as a photographer for i-D magazine. In 1999 he was awarded the Kimura Ihei Commemorative Photography Award for his project "Tokyo Suburbia" (1998). A major retrospective of his work took place at the Kanazawa Museum of Contemporary Art in 2010. Homma currently lives in Tokyo.
