This is the second stop in Milan for an exhibition - already presented in Murcia, Spain, and Siena (September 2009 - January 2010) - that presents, for the first time in Italy, a selection of 114 shots by the great American photographer Francesca Woodman (Denver, 1958 - New York, 1981). Daughter of art - her father George was a painter and her mother Betty a ceramist - Francesca Woodman began working with the photographic medium when she was only thirteen years old, when she took her first self-timer. In the nine years that separated this debut from her voluntary departure from life at only twenty-two, the artist continued to photograph herself in domestic settings, in the midst of nature, alone or with friends, in the midst of performances or in carefully studied poses. This volume, the first dedicated to the artist in Italian, is the most complete and recent editorial reference to get to know the photographer's work.
