Il libro dei libri presents a wide selection of the publishing production of the master of Italian photography Gianni Berengo Gardin. Over 250 volumes in a career spanning more than 50 years: a unique heritage of images, voices, glances, visions. The books that Gianni Berengo Gardin has produced, from the first, Biagio Rossetti Architetto ferrarese (1960), to the last, Storie di un fotografo, 2013, testify to the author's passion for photography and his love for books, these strange objects capable of enclosing stories, provoking debates, pointing out paths to follow.

Bruno Carbone curated the selection of Berengo Gardin's books, recording, one after the other, the flowering of the great master of photography's editorial production. Each title has a data sheet, often double pages to show the chosen images and layout and, when possible, an author's quotation or a commentary to contextualise the publication, recall its release, bring its meaning to mind.
