Sospese is positioned at the intersection between the artist's book and the catalogue, proposing a path of gradual discovery of the works that are part of the exhibition of the same name, among nameless figures that become icons and guardians of
a culture and a society that can no longer be located in a single time. The selection of portraits produced on glass plates in the early 20th century is part of the heritage kept the Boscarino Archive, which preserves and enhances the production of the photographers Giuseppe and Francesco Boscarino and Giuseppina Maranzani, active between 1899 and 2000 in Mazara del Vallo. Sospese is the result of the first reconnaissance within an archive with an extraordinarily vast corpus, where the traditional process of preservation, cataloguing and scientific study is joined by an equally powerful tool: poetry.
equally powerful tool: poetry.
