The first and only volume in the series of photo books designed by Zavattini. The cover, designed by a New York graphic artist who was a friend of Strand, shows the image of the Lusetti family, which became famous. It was this model that inspired almost all Italian photographers from the 1960s onwards (from A. Russo, 'Cultural History of Italian Photography').
