In 1959, he competed in the Lorenzo Delleani Painting Prize, where he was awarded by the jury chaired by Felice Casorati, and participated in the 8th Quadriennale Nazionale d'Arte in Rome. In the 1960s, the Gellaria Polena in Genoa dedicated several personal exhibitions to him.
In 1979, he was elected Academic of Merit of the Ligustica Academy of Fine Arts and was entrusted with the chair of painting, which he held until 1997. His numerous exhibitions in the 1980s and 1990s include a one-man exhibition of painting and engraving, curated by Gaetano Giuffrè, at the Modern Art Gallery in Genoa; a second one-man exhibition of engraving in Genoa at the Santagostino Museum in 1985; an anthological exhibition at the Rubinacci Gallery in Genoa; and a second anthological exhibition of painting and engraving in 1997 at the Villa Museum of Contemporary Art, also in Genoa, curated by Guido Giubbini with a catalogue published by Skira. In 1998, the Museo Civico di Bellinzona, Villa dei Cedri published a notebook on his etching work from 1959 to 1998, edited by Matteo Bianchi. In 2011, he participated in the Biennale Ligure d'arte contemporanea, a regional section of the Italian Pavilion of the LIV Venice Biennale.
