8vo, pp. 88 Rilegato, sovracoperta (hard cover, dust jacket) Ottimo (Fine)Without pretension, he uses his photographs to display human beings in their immediate surroundings, portraying life in the Ukraine during both the Soviet and the post-Soviet eras. His series include his own photographs, both in black and white and in colour, photo and text collages. Muted, poetic, and contemplative, they nevertheless express a wide range of sentiments. The exhibition includes a selection from his entire oeuvre. In this volume however are included just one fragment of his life's work, photographs from the series entitled Dance, never previously published. Dance is a serene reflection on the distractions and pleasures of the Russian people in their strenuous everyday life. They whirl as they dance, seemingly carefree. They meet, become acquainted, move on. Dance exudes optimism and humanism in difficult and demanding times.
